Peaky Blinder Beer in Birmingham

Peaky Blinders was a popular television drama based in Birmingham and was a nationwide hit – a fact that you should know about Birmingham before moving to the city. Now, Sadler’s Ales Brewery in Stourbridge is bringing back its Peaky Blinder beer that was made in April 2014.

Peaky Blinder Gold is the name of the beer that is made with five different malts, all made to taste like the beer that “Brummies” would have drank in the 1920s.

Steve Land, Swallow’s managing director, said “The original was identical to the beer people drank after the First World War, so we developed a more contemporary, crisper version at 4.3 per cent, which responds to the trend for lighter and more flavoursome craft beers. It appeals to a wider variety of drinkers and is great with food.”

Sadler’s partnered with Quinton-based Swallow Drinks for distribution, and the dark and hoppy beer will be sold at St. Andrews in Birmingham City, Marriot Hotels, several Birmingham nightclubs, and theaters. What has Birmingham movers even more excited is the announcement that the beer will also be available in cases of eight bottles for $12.99.

Take a break from moving and pick up a case of Peaky Blinder Gold for you and your movers – you both will be glad you did and it will show that you already know something about the neighborhood. All finished moving in? Throw a house warming party for Labor Day and stock up on Peaky Blinder Gold – the local craft beer that your neighbors will greatly appreciate.
