Having a cluttered kitchen can make every day tasks such as making a sandwich or preparing dinner increasingly stressful. Minimizing the amount of items you keep in the kitchen will not only keep things organized, but it will prevent a pile of dishes. Read on to learn more from the Birmingham movers about uncluttering your kitchen.
Take inventory. No one needs 15 forks, 20 cups and 12 coffee cups readily available. Dish hoarding is a real thing–don’t become a person who keeps (and continually buys!) more than they need. Throw out old dishes or ones that simply don’t get used.
Duplicates are clutter. Two blenders are excessive, ditto for spatulas, ladles, cookie sheets, and so on. Kitchen storage is often limited, so there really isn’t room for these duplicate items.
While you are at it, clean out the cabinets. Check for expiration dates on everything, from salsa to medicine. Toss what is old and make a note of what is almost empty and needs replenishing. If you’re still on a roll, clean out the fridge and don’t forget to wipe down countertops with an antibacterial wipe.
