Strange Sites to Visit After Moving to Alabama

If you are moving to Birmingham this summer and are an aficionado of visiting strange sites, then you have moved to the right place! Alabama is packed with unusual destinations. After moving to Alabama, check out the following strange sites that are perfect to visit with the family and get to know the area better.
• Elephant Building: As far as strange sites go, this is one of the top ones that will have you making a double-take! This structure takes on the shape of an elephant. It is located in Roanoke, and you are certainly going to want to pay it a visit.
• Lady in the Lake: Situated in Elberta, Alabama, you can find a fifty foot sculpture of a woman floating in the lake. Mark Cline is an artist who specializes in creating fiberglass sculptures. He received a call from an employee of George Barber, a successful art patron, asking Cline to produce the sculpture for the lake in Elberta.
• The Elberta Dinosaurs: Mark Cline also created these large dinosaur statues, upon the request of George Barber. Cline was building dinosaur statues for his Enchanted Castle Studios in Natural Bridge, Virginia when he was discovered. A random stranger approached him and expressed that his brother-in-law may be interested in purchasing some of the dinosaurs as “lawn ornaments.” Cline wasn’t particularly interested, so he listed an absurdly high price in order to get rid of the stranger. A couple of weeks later, Cline receives a call from the stranger again. It turns out that the man’s brother-in-law is billionaire George Barber, and Barber wants seven of the dinosaurs. Today, you can find them scattered in the woods in Elberta.
