Quaint Birmingham restaurant hot-spot Babalu has been known to residents as “tacos and tapas” but there might be other things on the menu that are so delectable, they may want to rethink their coined nickname.
In a recent excerpt on Alabama.com, columnist Alec Harvey explained his experience at Babalu, elaborating on the fact that their guacamole is just amazing, and made tableside for $9.95.
“Two Hass avocados, sun-dried tomatoes, red and green onion, kosher salt, cilantro and lime juice are standard, and you can add bacon or jalapenos for $1. Served with house chips, it’s a delicious way to kick things off,” said Harvey.
But that’s not all, the popular Birmingham “tacos and tapas” eatery also features tacos that can be stuffed with redfish, pulled pork, chicken, or veggies. When it comes to tapas, Birmingham movers think the manly residents in town would love the steak on a stick or the braised short ribs.
If you have already gone to Babalu a million times for Taco Tuesday, and you want a break from tacos, but your friends still want to go? No problem, the restaurant’s Baba Burger and grilled lamb sliders are just as delicious!
