Regardless of whether you have traveled to and from Birmingham from Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport numerous times, if you are traveling through the airport at any point in time this year, be aware of the change in parking location and rental car service location.

The airport’s rental car return facility has been moved to the second level of the aiport’s parking deck, while the parking deck undergoes roughly $7.7 million in renovations and upgrades.

Upgrades include increased and better lighting fixtures, fresh paint, and accessible bathrooms.

Since the project is not set to be completed until the end of this year, if you are moving to Birmingham and will be traveling through Birmingham-Shuttlesworth, make sure that you pay close attention to the construction signs.

If you will be needing a rental car once you arrive in the city, they can be found on the second level of the parking deck, in Section 1C, accessed from the terminal through Door 4L.

If you already live in the city and are picking up family or friends from the airport, daily drivers should remain in the right line when entering the parking deck.
