- Monster Jam on January 8 and 9: On Friday and Saturday, monster trucks will be ripping up the track and racing for first place at Legacy Arena at The BJCC. If you are interested in bringing your kids to this entertaining performance after moving to Birmingham, there are three shows to choose from: January 8 at 7:30 p.m. and January 9 at 2 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. Tickets are between $10 and $45.
– BrickFair Lego Expo on January 16 and 17: Join your Birmingham movers and fellow LEGO enthusiasts on Saturday and/or Sunday for a weekend filled with building, creation and inventing with LEGO’s. Attendees will have the opportunity to observe and participate in inspirational LEGO creations and learn new building techniques. There will also be several shopping aisles filled with LEGO products for sale; such as: LEGO kits, shirts, hats, minifigures and more. Doors open at 11 a.m. and admission is $12; $6 after 2 p.m. Children under 3 are free.
– The Lion King Jr. on January 22: Presented by The Donoho School at the Oxford Performing Arts Center, this is the perfect first performance to bring your kids to after moving to Birmingham. The cast of the Lion King Jr. will perform all of the favorite scenes from the popular Disney film. The show starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are $10 per person.
